Remember to Clean-up After Your Pets

The Ryerss Hunt Homeowners Association Board of Directors would like to remind pet owners of the township guidelines for animal nuisances.

It is the duty of the animal owner to properly clean up any feces deposited in the common ground/open area, on any neighbors’ property, and on any other public or private property.  It is unlawful to let an animal run at large at any time in the Township of West Whiteland and it is unlawful to allow any animal to be permitted to disturb the peace of the neighborhood.

Secure Your Trash

We are requesting that homeowners secure their trash especially since the wind seems to select Tuesday to be a strong as possible. The Board has received numerous complaints about trash flying about the neighborhood.  Some recommendations to reduce the amount of trash in the neighborhood:

  •  Tie or tape trash bags closed.
  •  Secure paper in recycle bins by placing heavier magazines or catalogs on top or securing a few items with string and placing this on top of the paper in the bin.
  •  Tie cardboard into a bundle and place between or under bins.
  •  Secure glass and plastic by putting heavier items on top.  Try not to overload bins.

The Township provides new homeowners with an initial 18 gallon bin.  Extra bins are available for purchase through the township or at any home improvement store.

Trash pick-up is every Tuesday (the following day if it’s a holiday). Please do not place your trash out for pick-up until Monday evening at the earliest. Monday is the second windiest day of the week so trash placed at the curb too early can easily become your neighbor’s trash.

Parking

While on-street parking is not prohibited by the township or the neighborhood guidelines, the Board is requesting that homeowners park on the street only when necessary. If you must park on the street, please avoid parking directly across from another vehicle on the street. This situation reduces traffic flow and causes unnecessary congestion on our neighborhood streets.

Also, any RV, boat or personal commercial vehicle should be parked in the homeowner’s driveway and not on the street.

Speed Limits

The posted speed limit in the neighborhood is 25 miles per hour.  Please adhere to this speed limit.  There are many children who play in the neighborhood and many homeowners walk and bike.

Snowstorms

Sidewalks must be shoveled within 24 hours after a snowfall.  Also, please remember to move all vehicles into your driveway so that plows can pass through the neighborhood.

Walking Path/Nature Trail

The walking path is for the enjoyment of our neighborhood.

Please be aware that you use this path at your own risk as it is a nature trail and will at times be overgrown, rocky or muddy.  Motorized vehicles are NOT allowed on the path.  This includes motorcycles, ATVs, and mini-bikes.

If you observe these motorized vehicles on the path or in the fields owned by PECO at the top os the hill on Woodbank Way, please call the West Whiteland Police and report them. 610-363-0200.

Lock Your Cars

In the neighborhood, there have been thefts of personal items out of unlocked cars.   Please remember to lock your car, especially when it will be parked on the street or in your driveway.

No signs of any nature, except house numbers and nameplates for identification purposes (including by way of illustration and not of limitation, any real estate “For Sale” or “For Rent” signs. However residents may display a sign of a contracted company or worker while the residence is undergoing whatever contracted services have been arranged. Once the work is completed or after one month, whichever comes first, the sign MUST be removed from the property.

We realize that this may seem to be an extreme request; however, with 191 houses within the development, the result of not enforcing this by-law could possibly lead to excessive amounts of signage destroying the innate beauty of our community.
